There are two distinct areas of concern when address noise control for walls. Stopping noise from passing through to the adjacent side requires products that either add mass to the wall or damp or isolate gypsum board. The other set of products prevent noise vibration in a wall from traveling up or down and breaking out. Controlling noise flanking is paramount when using noise control floor and ceiling products with walls that are directly attached to nonisolated structure.

PSB-S – Resilient Partition Attachment

PSB-S should be used when a partition isn’t supported at the top plate or when support at the top and bottom of the partition isn’t sufficient to keep the partition from buckling.

PSB-M – Resilient Masonry Attachment

For use when wall isolation is desired for concrete masonry unit (CMU) wall construction, PSB-M supports the partition from buckling.
